Sakura Bloom the littlest Sling

I adore the new special edition sling by Sakura Bloom, the littlest.  The sling was designed in collaboration with Elizabeth Antonia of the littlest who was the winner of the 2011 Sakura Bloom styleathon.  My favorite detail is the vintage paisley eyelet.  It would be a perfect sling for summer!

Skip Hop: Zoo Luggage

We have long been fans of the Skip Hop zoo line.  Aidan has the dog backpack and lunchbox.  Skip Hop recently released rolling luggage and it's very cute!  A great size for kids to pack and maneuver themselves when going on a vacation or overnight to grandma's.

2012 Goals Update

Now that we are almost 4 months into 2012 (where does the time go), I thought it would be a good time to check in on my 2012 goals.
  1. Run another 1/2 marathon
  2. Try 2 new recipes each month - So far, I have been trying mostly recipes from Cooking Light and we have loved all of the them.
  3. Sell our Albany house -
  4. Find a job - Done!
  5. Keep up to date on family photo albums
  6. Plan one fun outing/adventure each month
  7. Learn how to curl my hair
  8. Fit into my skinny jeans
  9. Renew my yoga practice
  10. Take a photography class
I still have a quite a bit of work to do.  I feel like we are finally settling into our new home and new jobs here in Lexington, so hopefully I'll be able to work more on my goals over the next 4 months.  How are you doing on your New Year's resolutions?

You may have heard of Stella & Dot - they are a fast rising company and sell great jewelry!  The summer collection was released last week and it includes some fun, bright pieces for summer.  I love jewelry.  It doesn't matter what size you are or what you look like, you can throw on a bold piece and looked pulled together in an instant.  Here are a few of my favorites from the summer collection.

It has been a while since I have checked Smashing Magazine for the monthly wallpapers and I was needing something new for my screen.  I love several of this month's wallpapers and had a hard time choosing one.  Ultimately, I am always a fan of cherry blossoms.  You can see all of this month's wallpapers here.

The Local Taco

One of my favorite places to eat in Lexington is The Local Taco.  I discovered it while walking one day at work and I am sure glad that I did.  They have delicious tacos and some varieties that you wouldn't expect.  I have tried the local bbq, tequila lime chicken and the korean bbq tacos so far and my favorite is the local bbq.  It's made with 12 hour smoked pork in a house made bourbon bbq sauce topped with jalapeno cole slaw.  Yum.  The best menu item I have had so far though is the guacamole.  I love guacamole and The Local Taco has a wonderful recipe.  It contains huge piece of fresh avocado and is delicious.

The Local Taco is a casual place and also has a full bar.  One nice days, the front window/garage doors open right out onto the patio.  The Local Taco is definitely made it onto my list as a favorite lunch spot.  If you are in the neighborhood, check it out!

Back!

I'm back!  Sorry I was gone for so long.  February ended up being a much crazier month than I even expected.  Good news, I found a full-time job!  (cross that off the 2012 goals list)  The first few weeks I was back at work were an adjustment for everyone as we settled into a routine and I had to take the boys to two different daycare centers.  Now that they are at the same place, it's much easier.

We also moved again, this time into a rental house.  We are really enjoying the space and the neighborhood.  I was hoping to be more unpacked by this point but I am slowly working on it.  This weekend, we had a great time playing outside, riding bikes and Aidan even met a few of the neighbor boys which he really enjoyed.

I also went back to Albany for a weekend to do some work on our house.  We are still optimistic and it's still for sale.  (unfortunately, I can't cross that off the list just yet)  It was really nice to see friends and visit while I was there.

The downside to February was that we were all really sick (which slowed everything down.)  I haven't been that sick in 2 years.  I think Gavin was the healthiest with a cold or two and one bout of pink eye.  Aidan was home from daycare every week with a different illness.  I am hoping now that the weather is warming up, that the germs and illness will start to subside.

I am happy to be back working on Simply Paige.  I am hoping to put together more party inspiration boards as well.  I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend!
