Sunflower Party

I love this sunflower party from the Amy Atlas archives.  A great, cheery way to kick off the labor day weekend, don't you think?  I think we are expecting rain all weekend but I hope it's sunny where you are and you can enjoy the last unofficial weekend of summer!

Back to School with Tea

As I looked through Aidan's closet before he started kindergarten, I realized that he did need a few items to help transition into fall.  So, we did a little back to school shopping at you guessed it...Tea Collection!  I really like the fall collections and decided that the Cykel Kalamari Outfit Set was perfect.  Bicycle. Check. Octopus (kalamari). Check.  Comfortable. Check.

He is very excited to wear his new clothes but unfortunately hasn't had much of an opportunity since the weather is still quite warm here.  He does wear his bicycle hoodie on cool mornings and it's already a hit.  Shopping with Tea is a great experience as I know that I am going to receive well made, quality clothes in a short amount of time  The shipping time is quite quick which helps serve my need for instant gratification.

I know as the weather turns cooler, I will be returning to Tea Collection for more items for the boys' closets.  Just today, I saw the new arrivals and I have my eye on the Snowflake Henley Sweater.  Now to decide which son will wear it.

Kindergarten Eve

I can hardly believe that Aidan starts kindergarten tomorrow.  We are all excited and I feel he is definitely ready but there is something a bit bittersweet about your first child going to kindergarten.  We will also have new schedules starting tomorrow so I'm sure it will take a few weeks to work out.

While I know I won't have time to whip these up before tomorrow, I love Bakerella's push-up pencils.  So cute!  A very clever use of the push-up and I hope someone will have a chance to make them as a yummy back to school treat.

Going for the Gold!

Did you enjoy watching the Olympics as much as I did?  I am always sad to see the games come to a close and although I missed a lot of my favorite events this year, I was able to catch at lot of great events and Olympic moments.  My husband and I are even thinking about planning now for a trip for the family to Rio in 2016.  What a great adventure that would be!

Playmobil has created a line of Olympic events to continue our love and play of the Olympics long after the torch has been extinguished.  They are mini sets and a perfect companion for Playmobil play.  I think the gymnast and the swimmer are my favorite.  The Playmobil Gymnast on Balance Beam is currently on sale at Amazon for $3.95 plus shipping.

Lunch Notes

Back to School preparations are in full swing at our house.  So many things left to do and school starts in 7 days!  I know we are all excited for the start of the school year and Aidan can't wait to start kindergarten.

I love Paper Coterie's free lunch notes printables.  A great way to add a little note to your family member's lunchbox.  What a great way to include a cute message of encouragement, congratulations and love to your child's day.

Back to School Remix

Last year, I posted about this great Back to School party from One Charming Party.  I loved it so much, I need to post it again. (Maybe I could use all of my glue sticks in the decorations!)  Now that we are in Kentucky, school starts much earlier in mid-August.  We already have a calendar full of school events for the next two weeks before classes start.  Hopefully, I will have time to have a little back to school party or dinner for my new kindergartner.

Orla Kiely Love

Have you seen the newly released Orla Kiely designed Method soap?  I recently saw it at Target and I. Love. It!  I was buying school supplies this morning and couldn't resist buying a new bottle of dish soap just for the Orla Kiely packaging.  It will look great on the kitchen counter.

P.S.  Did anyone else need to buy 25 glue sticks?  I feel like the glue hoarder.
